Burnout Doesn’t Look Good on Anyone (Trust Me, I Checked)

Ted Talk Tuesday: Burnout Doesn’t Look Good on Anyone (Trust Me, I Checked)

Let’s have a little heart-to-heart, y’all.

Running a small business in today’s world? It’s like signing up for 10 full-time jobs… with no HR department and no PTO. You’re the creator, the owner, the accountant, the marketing team, the customer service rep, the social media manager, and apparently now we’re influencers too? Wild.

It’s A LOT. And if you’re not careful, that “I’ll just add one more thing” mindset? It will chew you up and spit you out in a burnt, crispy, overcaffeinated mess.

Here’s your reminder:

  • Set a schedule—and stick to it Learn when “no” is the best answer (and yes, “no” is a full damn sentence)
  • Boundaries are not optional—they’re necessary
  •  If it’s not in your capacity, it’s not your responsibility
  • Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s survival.

We can’t do everything for everyone all the time. So take care of the business, yes—but don’t forget to take care of the human running it. You’re allowed to rest.

You’re allowed to protect your peace. And you’re allowed to not answer that message at midnight.
