Geez Talk Tuesday:

What It Actually Looks Like to “Do It All” as a Small Biz Owner

Spoiler: It’s not pastel planners and lattes with foam art.

There’s a weird pressure in the small business world to look like you’ve got it all together.
Like you’re effortlessly juggling design drops, customer service, accounting, social media, shipping, emails, and maybe even dinner—without breaking a sweat.
And let’s be honest: we’ve all seen those posts.

“Running my biz, being a mom, and meal-prepping 17 freezer dinners while booking six figures ✨ #BossBabe”

Cool for them. But for the rest of us?
Doing it all doesn’t look like that.
It looks like survival.

💻 It’s Working from Your Phone at Red Lights

Because someone didn’t get their download link and “needed it yesterday.”
You’re not ignoring people—you’re literally just trying to answer between Target runs and toddler meltdowns.

🧠 It’s 36 Open Tabs and a Brain That Won’t Shut Off

You’re trying to design a new product line, fix that weird glitch on Shopify, respond to a DM, and figure out why your file isn’t exporting in CMYK.
Oh, and also wondering if you scheduled that Freebie Friday post or just dreamed it.

🧴 It’s Dry Shampoo and Deadlines

You told yourself you'd shower after you finished that listing.
Three listings, two invoices, and a mild breakdown later—you’re still in yesterday’s hoodie and hoping the scent of productivity is stronger than the scent of stress.

🍽️ It’s Eating Lunch Over Your Laptop

Cold leftovers. One hand on the mouse, the other holding a fork.
Or let’s be real: sometimes just coffee and a granola bar inhaled while uploading files.

📸 It’s Taking “Content Photos” in the 30 Seconds Before the Sun Sets

Because golden hour is a liar and your dog stepped in the flat lay you spent 20 minutes staging.
You post it anyway, filters and all, and hope no one zooms in.

😵 It’s Crying Over Canva Because the Font Won’t Center

And yeah, you know how to fix it.
But that was the last straw after a day of customer ghosting, tech issues, and someone saying, “I could make that myself.”

🤡 It’s Smiling Online While Struggling Offline

You put on a brave face for your feed. Because showing up matters.
But behind the screen? You're exhausted. You're questioning your worth. You're wondering if anyone sees how hard you’re trying.

BUT ALSO...

It’s pride.
Pride that you made something out of nothing.
That you keep showing up, even when it’s quiet.
That you’re building a brand, a vision, a business—with your own damn hands.

It’s freedom.
To create what lights you up.
To work in your own way, on your own schedule (even if that schedule is chaos).

It’s connection.
With customers who get it.
With friends who hype you up.
With a community that remembers your name—not just your sale price.

The Truth?

“Doing it all” doesn’t mean doing it perfectly.
It means doing your best—even when it’s messy, loud, emotional, and scrappy.

So if you’re out here running your biz with dry shampoo in your hair, a Canva meltdown in your heart, and a to-do list longer than your attention span…

You’re doing it.
And that’s enough.
More than enough.
